Going back to my childhood, growing up in a rural area, the pictures of the landscape and the interaction of people within it, were becoming my daily routine.

After completing my initial studies as a medical laboratory technologist, I studied the biology of the human structure microscopically, a fact that contributed to my familiarity with images from the inner human body. My need for expression though, led me to the School of Fine Arts, in Athens.

Since I was fifteen years old, I have done various jobs that are linked to my painting; as a constructor, a thing that made me wonder about the intervention of humans in the landscape and helped me organize my compositions with a geometrical manner, as a technologist at a hospital, that helped me approach humans through a scientific manner, as a volunteer art teacher at a non-profit organization, which both helped me develop a daily interaction with a large number of people.

In my artistic attempts, fascinated by the huge dimensions of the canvas,I deal with the concept of the landscapes and how these are developed through human interventions and the technological point of view, which has substituted our relationship with the natural landscape itself. I use the colour as a means of creating new formalistic spaces, while simultaneously the transference of the everyday life images with the use of pencil, comes to create a parallel reality which is nervously dreaming about the future landscapes.

In Royal College, I will have the opportunity to develop my artistic and expressionistic skills in a high level academic environment. The university’s open character and orientation as far as the development of free ideas is concerned, seems to me an idyllic environment to enrich my experiences and my artistic concerns.
